Ferienpark Rübezahl am Müggelsee

The house looked stylish and the location seemed nice, but our stay turned sour. We found ants in the house, even though it was December, and ended up vacuuming every day to keep them down. When we raised it, we were told the cleaning fee would be waived. A week later, though, they emailed to say they’d changed their minds because insects should be expected in that kind of location, then charged my card. I couldn’t do anything about it. There’s a long list of cleaning tasks when you arrive, with what felt like astronomical charges if you don’t follow it. On top of that, there’s a compulsory €70 cleaning fee at the end, even though the house was already spotless. Water and electricity are charged separately at hugely inflated rates. For our three-day stay, we paid more for those than we normally spend in a month at home. Some of the luxury features, including the Jacuzzi bath, didn’t work either, as other people have mentioned. This place doesn’t seem to appear on TripAdvisor, and I suspect the owners are trying to hide its bad reviews.

We had a terrible time, and our honeymoon was ruined. If you want to sleep and be treated well by the owner, don’t book here. They lie to the booking agency afterward if you complain. The large white heating fans outside each house make so much noise at night that you can’t sleep. You also can’t reach anyone after 16.00, so if something goes wrong when you get back from a day in Berlin, you’re stuck. The whirlpool didn’t work, the kitchen had very few supplies, and there was noise from the machines and from gardeners walking around behind the house we’d booked. Very bad. I wouldn’t recommend it. Never again!

We had a good stay. It’s a nice spot near a big lake and pleasant woods. The only thing is, they could do a better job explaining the bill, since there were lots of hidden costs.
