The front desk doubles as the bar, which feels just right, and the staff were kind, decent, and helpful. I liked the place for a longer budget stay: it’s in a residential-feeling city block, but very handy for Savignyplatz, the S-Bahn, the Tegel bus, groceries, cafes, bars, specialty restaurants, and even a hardware store. It has a simple, pre-Wende feel, without the luxury showiness that’s become common.

The rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and the staff were really friendly. There’s a nice choice of restaurants nearby, plus a few bars, and the S-Bahn station is about a 10-minute walk away. Good value for the money, and free Wi-Fi in the lounge too.
