Hotel garni Aaberna

We'd told the hotel my flight landed after six and we'd arrive around 8, and they said late check-in was okay. When we got there, the building was locked from outside and all the lights were off. A woman answered the provided number, but she was rude and didn't seem to care that we'd traveled a long way on long flights. She said check-in wasn't possible, that we could do whatever we wanted, and it wasn't her concern. When I asked about a refund for the night, she said no, it was our fault for not arriving on time and we had to find somewhere ourselves. We ended up going elsewhere and paying extra. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The €50 deposit wasn't mentioned, and the rooms were another horror story in an old building. The location is kinda good, but the host is awful: he doesn't know English, speaks disrespectfully, and threatens to kick people out at 8am on checkout day. He only takes euro cash, no dollars or cards. I'm writing this while I hear him knocking on people's doors to kick them out.

The receptionist was the only nice part. I paid for two nights, but the place looked very different from its pictures and gave me haunted feelings, so I couldn't stay even an hour and moved to another hotel right away. They didn't refund me when I asked. The pillows were the flattest I've ever seen.

Getting around was easy with public transport close by. The front desk could have been a little more welcoming, but it was a wonderful stay.
