The lounge was the one part that disappointed us. Its hours were generous, but most of the food they called “finger food” was poor. The nice service helped make up for it, and breakfast was different: varied and delicious. We stayed in one of the more exclusive suites and were surprised by how beautiful and luxurious it was. The location is hard to beat, right by Europa center and Kurfürstendamm. Our room did have a broken window, sink, and Jacuzzi, but they repaired or compensated for everything quickly. The indoor pool was especially pleasant in the cold season. We also ate at beef 45. It was delicious but a bit pricey. After turndown service, there was a new discount coupon on the pillow each day. We found one for beef 45 only after we’d already eaten there, but they honored the discount retroactively. I can heartily recommend the hotel.

The breakfast buffet was five stars, and once I got to the new rooms they were excellent. My original room was dated, but they moved me to the other side of the hotel and upgraded me. The spa was hard to locate but really enjoyable. There was still construction near the lobby, and they charged me for a coffee while I waited for my room to be ready.

We booked a Business Premium Deluxe Room for Christmas. It was spacious and extremely comfortable, with a view of the area. The location worked well, with plenty of restaurants nearby and the underground station a short seven-minute walk away. Some people call the hotel outdated, but it felt pretty modern to me. The breakfast had lots of choice, everything was freshly made, and they kept replenishing it while we ate. Service was very good, especially from the cleaning, spa, and breakfast teams. My only issues were that the whirl pool wasn’t working, and reception told us at 11:45 that we were too late for breakfast even though the stated closing time was 12:00. A lovely choice for a romantic trip.

The hotel was close to perfect. We had great rooms, a fantastic breakfast, and friendly staff. There was a Christmas market right next door, the zoo opposite, and a bus stop outside that took us straight to all the major sights.

I’ve just got home from a four-night stay with my mum. It was our first time in Berlin, visiting the Christmas markets. The hotel was in a good location, and the staff seemed friendly and helpful. Breakfast was huge, with loads of variety. The spa was nice, if maybe a little dated. Nothing to fault.
