Hotel-Pension Reiter

For what it costs, the pension is decent. The room was great, but the bathroom was just okay. The sink had very weak water pressure, and the shower kept swinging from too hot to too cold even when I left the controls alone. I had to keep adjusting it to avoid getting burned or cold.

The room was basic and the mattress too soft for me. Getting there and sorting things out was strange: I went to the address on the reservation, then was sent to another one to stay, Karl Marx 65a. Luckily we had no luggage, but check-in wasn't until after 2:00 pm and we had hoped to rest instead of going elsewhere. There was no hairdryer in the room either. Reception replied to my message saying to come and get one, which meant going back. On the plus side, it's near the metro and not far from East Side Gallery or Berlin Ostbahnhof, where you can get to Berlin Schönefeld Airport.

The room and bathrooms were clean, and since there weren't many people there during our Sunday-to-Monday stay, we didn't have to wait for the bathrooms. The heater worked really well, and the big windows let in air. Check-in was okay, but the staff weren't accommodating. I accidentally booked an extra night and messaged straight away to cancel it. They wouldn't refund me, though they did let me change the dates. There were no weekend rooms available for the whole year, and the owners wouldn't make an exception. It's a nice place to stay, just don't expect accommodating hosts.

Quiet and clean, with a large bathroom and free hot water. It's close to metro stations, and there's a coffee machine where any coffee costs just 1 €. A Turkish fast food döner place is a two-minute walk away, with cheap, good food.
