Hotel Klassik Berlin

It was acceptable for a short stay, but nothing special. The location was quite good and the price seemed relatively reasonable for what you get, which partly made up for the shortcomings. The hotel wasn't especially clean, and some areas felt a bit worn.

The shower didn't work, and the place is falling apart. The photos aren't even close to what they advertise. A young woman at the desk charged us for breakfast after another worker had said it was fine to take some food. Then they charged us 18 dollars for liquid powder eggs and one cup of coffee, and said it was our fault for not eating more. Don't waste your money.

The location is handy, about a five-minute walk from the station, with restaurants, a mall, and public transport nearby. But we weren't impressed with the stay. The building was under renovation, so from our balcony room we couldn't see any view. It was loud all night, and this isn't a good place if you want to sleep well or relax. On arrival, we found hair on the hair dryer and a leftover cola in a dirty fridge. The bedding wasn't changed during our three nights, and room service wasn't very good. On the second morning, there wasn't a buffet to choose from. They asked how many eggs we wanted, then served us plenty of bread, cheese, and salad, and that was it. Given it's in Germany's capital, that was disappointing. All in all, we weren't satisfied, and wouldn't recommend it if you want a restful stay.

The room was lovely, with natural light from the window and lighting you could adjust with a bedside lamp and even illumination in the bed frame. There wasn't much furniture. A strange big block with storage compartments confused us, and we couldn't open it. There's no kitchen, if that matters to you. The staff were adorable. They listened to a specific request about the beds, showed us the elevator, helped with the luggage, and stored it on our last day. The hotel itself was really pretty, though I wish the hygiene were a little better. We found some dust packs under the bed.
