We couldn't get into our room because the safe wouldn't work. When we called to complain, the owner cut me off before I could finish and hung up. That was unfriendly and unprofessional, and the information given to customers was lacking.

I’ve stayed here twice, and seeing the reviews made me want to add my take. The staff, most of whom seemed to be Ukrainian, were friendly and clearly trying hard. Their German may not always be perfect, but they’re working and making an effort, and I respect that. They deserve a good review for it. People complain that the place is old or supposedly dirty. Come on, where else in Berlin are you staying for 60 euros? If you want the Ritz-Carlton in the city center, go there. Some people want to save money and then badmouth the people doing their best. Have a nice day.

The room felt more like it was worth €45, which is what others in our group paid. I paid over €70 a night through Booking.com, and that was too much.
