We appreciated the comfortable beds, the good quality breakfast, and the free water and beer provided each day. Everything was great.

The staff are super friendly. The hotel is a bit old fashioned, though that can be fascinating. It was very hot, and having no air conditioning caused us some trouble. They do have fans.

You can tell the hotel once catered to a richer clientele, and it still has that old class. Some modern facilities are missing as a result, including air conditioning. On the first night, people in the room next to us were disruptive and disrespectful, playing loud music until well past 0200. We knocked and asked them to quiet down, but they weren’t receptive. We then raised it with reception and heard that several rooms had complained during the night. Unfortunately, the receptionist on duty didn’t have the experience or authority to deal with it properly and could only knock and ask them to turn it down, even though they’d already ignored us. The next day, a receptionist or manager with more authority responded to the complaints and promptly resolved the problem, with profuse apologies. Being heard and helped made us feel much better about the stay and service, and the rest of our visit was a joy. Night staff should have the authority, training, and supporting procedures to respond to complaints and problems promptly.

We had a good stay and felt the price was fair. The front desk staff were kind and really helpful. The hotel looks a little dated inside, though it’s clearly kept in good condition. Our main disappointments were the two single beds pushed together instead of a double, and shower water leaking across the bathroom floor.
