Jägersteig

That quiet Saturday in the Black Forest was just what I needed before carrying on with my road trip Monday. I took a short hike near Burg Windeck castle, and between that and the local beer and good food, it felt like perfect medicine. JagerSteig was clean and peaceful, with everything done to a high standard. A young local man welcomed me and recommended wild game ravioli, a lovely Alpine dish. The blonde head waitress was lovely too. I hope to return with my wife someday.

Breakfast had plenty to choose from, including fresh fruit, bread toppings, and juice. Dinner was delicious too, with a wide menu of more luxurious dishes at fair prices. Our room was spacious, modern, and clean, and the view was miraculous. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and they welcomed our dog warmly.

We had dinner outside on the balcony in lovely weather. The view was super, and the food was outstanding.

We stayed in a beautiful suite and had an amazing stay. Breakfast was good, and the staff we interacted with were pleasant. The downside was that the restaurant was closed both days, which we had been told in advance. Since we’d walked to this very remote spot, we’d hoped to have a drink at the bar, but that was closed too. There also weren’t many staff on site when we arrived.
