It had a strange, almost “Twilight Zone” feeling. We came in after food service had stopped, and there wasn’t any staff in sight. One table was having a good time and a man sat at the bar. We sat at a table for three or four minutes, completely ignored, until an old man at the bar shouted one word without turning around. The older woman running the place was sitting with the lively table like a customer. She was cold and unwelcoming. Maybe it’s a place for locals.

We found the place by chance and really liked it. An older woman runs it, and she doesn’t speak English. That made us feel the food would be great and authentic.

The traditional food was nice, and the interior looked good.

A lovely older couple run the place, though the woman does all the work. She made our meal at home, upstairs from the shop. I suspect my schnitzel and my husband’s meat were bought at Aldi, but they tasted quite good, and the price matched the quality. It was very affordable. I hope she gets to keep doing what she enjoys for a long time, since her husband isn’t in good health. Food-wise it wasn’t okay, but eating here still felt worth five stars.
