1st Floor Köln

Having spa facilities right in the room was such a good idea. I always used to find it annoying to have to get dressed and go home after using a spa. The whirlpool was heavenly, the bed was really comfortable, and the decor was beautiful. You do have to walk through a hallway to reach the hotel, but anyone bothered by that has some issues 😂 This was our first stay, and we already know it won't be our last. We loved it and are looking forward to coming back :)

The staff member was friendly and very courteous, but the room wasn't good. The shower was much too small, and the whirlpool tub faced away from the TV and sat right in front of the bed. There was a really strong chlorine smell, so we had to keep the window open all night. I ended up with a sore throat from it. I don't think we'll return.

Our balcony faced the courtyard, where we watched the sunset in our bathrobes and enjoyed the fresh air. Although the hotel was on busy Marathon Street, we couldn't hear traffic or our neighbors, which had worried us at first. Outside the hotel there are plenty of places to eat, too. We stayed Sunday to Monday in the Deluxe Room with a whirlpool, and wished we'd booked another night. The Cologne Marathon was on Sunday, and the hotel emailed us the day before about road closures and other parking options. That was thoughtful and worked perfectly. Service was excellent. The whirlpool was fantastic, though it warmed up the room quite a bit, so the air conditioning was really useful. We appreciated the little touches: a coffee machine, complimentary water, and sweets. The bed was incredibly soft and comfortable, and we slept really well. A couple of small things: a clock would help, since you lose track of time in the pool and suddenly it's 11 pm. The bathroom lighting was also a bit dim, especially for the ladies putting on makeup. But those are minor points. We'll definitely return for several nights next time.

This place deserves more than five stars for its great service. It was my boyfriend's birthday, and since we're from Hamburg, I couldn't decorate the room beforehand. I sent a package of Happy Birthday items to the 1st Floor team, and they set everything up just as we'd discussed. We were so happy with the surprise, and my boyfriend loved it. We'll definitely recommend this accommodation.
