The apartment turned out to be a great surprise: huge, with two bedrooms, a separate lounge and kitchenette, and modern, stylish furnishings. We even found a complimentary cold beer in the fridge, a lovely touch. We booked mainly to be near the train station and avoid hauling our bags and child across the city for one night. The door sign sent us next door to check in at the kebab shop, which looked a bit worrying at first, but the hotel and shop are run by the same couple. It's right in the heart of Köln, beside the cathedral. Highly recommended if you don't need a fancy entrance or reception.

The location was the one real highlight. The room was nicely decorated, but the televisions were so hard to get working that watching TV was basically out of the question. I was told there were 30 international channels, but they seemed locked, and there was nobody around to ask for help. The shower also flooded the bathroom floor.

For the price, it's a good option. The apartment was plain, though tastefully decorated, and they don't provide daily service.

It was a comfortable, clean, spacious place to stay, and the location made a great base for exploring the city.

Lovely location and a good price for a very nice apartment. There's no early check-in, but I'd still say it's worth staying here.
