Hotel Sion

The staff at Hotel Sion helped us a lot with train problems and directions. The rooms were clean and a nice size, with comfortable beds. It’s close to all the places and markets you’d want to see. Great location, and I’d definitely recommend it.

We felt right at home and can’t wait to come back. The hotel staff were amazing and went out of their way to help when the airline lost our luggage for five of the seven days of our trip. They checked what rights we had, looked into reimbursement, and kept asking whether our bags had turned up. We stayed for three nights after Munich, and the Christmas markets right outside were beautiful. Our train wasn’t leaving until 1 p.m., so the front desk let us keep our room until noon. We’ve already said we’ll be back.

The room was quite cramped, with very little space to move around, and sound insulation was a real problem. We could hear noise from outside and even the alarm clock in the neighboring room. If a quiet, restful night matters to you, this may not be the best choice. The hotel is conveniently located near the cathedral and central train station, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Breakfast was simple but tasty.

Everything was spotless, and the mattress was fine. For a reasonable price, it was an adequate place for one night. There was only just enough room to walk from the shower room to the bed, though. The one real defect was the shower gel holder falling off the wall. Bending down makes for good morning exercise 😃
