We had a great family stay, all four of us. There was easy highway access, and paid parking was available. The rooms were spacious and clean, the children enjoyed the pool, and breakfast had a good range of choices.

Getting into the city center by tram was easy, and there was plenty of parking nearby. Breakfast was good too. The bathroom let the stay down, it hadn’t been cleaned properly and there were black hairs everywhere. The pool was tiny, with just three sunbeds, and the water was extremely cold.

The breakfast had a good spread, with fruit, local breads, hot dishes, and plenty of cheese and meat. The staff were very knowledgeable. The rooms are small, though, and the bathrooms felt even tighter than ones I’ve seen in downtown hotels. I banged my elbow and ankle getting into the shower, and the toilet nook is only comfortable if you’re slim.

The room was clean and orderly, and the bed was comfortable, which mattered most to me. But getting there was a drag: the hotel is far from the center of cologne, and the tram ride takes about 40 minutes. That felt especially unpleasant in the evening. I’d rate it 7 out of 10.

The friendly staff and pretty good breakfast were the bright spots. Still, the price feels high for a hotel so far from the center, with small, dated rooms, uncomfortable beds, limited restaurant choices, and facilities that feel more 3-star than 4-star.
