Cerano City Hotel Köln am Dom

We loved the freshly made fruit juices at breakfast. The place has a cozy feel, though space is limited and it seems best suited to a couple or a group of three. It’s not too far from the center, and everything else was good.

The beds were clean and comfortable, the Wi-Fi was good, the staff were friendly, and the location worked well. Breakfast was very good too. The weak points were housekeeping and the age of the place: some things, including the TV, didn’t work. With more cleaning and investment in replacing old items, this could become the best budget hotel in the old town.

Breakfast was outstanding, and the staff were very helpful. It’s a small hotel, about an 8-9 minute walk from cologne cathedral, with other shopping areas also within walking distance. There’s private parking for 14.5 Euro a night. One tip: Google Maps takes you to the back of the street, not the hotel entrance.

The location is convenient, with a metro station about 200m away, and the hotel itself is simple and nice. But Cologne was very hot during my stay, and with no air conditioning in the room I barely slept over the two nights. For a hotel without AC, the rate felt pretty expensive.
