Weidenpescher Hof

It was okay.

Excellent.

For €71, this felt like an insult to guests. The whole hotel seems to be run without care, and the smell of smoke has already been brought up several times. My room carpet was full of burn holes and clearly needs replacing. The breakfast room wasn't looked after either, with coffee stains and crumbs from the previous guest, overripe fruit, and shelves that needed cleaning. The tablecloths should be changed every day. I've stayed in plenty of hotels, and this place is plainly neglected.

The worst part was waking up after the first night covered in itchy red spots that kept multiplying. It seemed like the bed might have mites or fleas. The room's cleanliness was poor too: dust and sticky residue on the windowsill behind the curtain, mold in the bathroom grout, hair and dust in the corners, a badly discolored toilet brush, and towels that smelled terrible. A stale, foul smoke smell hit us at the entrance and followed us through the stairs and hallways into the room. The old carpets throughout the building were stained and full of burn holes. I know the price was low, but basic hygiene should still be a given. Very disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it.
