The food and room were both really nice, and the staff made us feel welcome. I’ve stayed in most of the hotels in Darmstadt, including places like Maritim, and this is one of the best. It’s a great option on the outskirts of town. I’d definitely stay here again.

We spent hours walking the quiet forest trails nearby, and this is a lovely place to unwind. There’s free parking above ground, and the room was more spacious than at other hotels. Dinner at the on-site restaurant was excellent, and this was the best breakfast we had in Germany. The staff were very courteous and helpful. The hotel is in a beautiful historic setting, within walking distance of the nature museum and historical hunting museum. Messel Pit, Frankenstein Castle ruins, downtown Darmstadt, Wedding Tower, Russian Chapel, Rose Garden, and shopping are an easy drive away. It would also be a good choice for business retreats.

The grounds are beautiful and relaxing to walk around, with wildlife to look at. Our room was larger than a typical hotel room, and the bed was very clean and comfortable. We came to visit friends at the end of a 3 month vacation and decided to try the Jagdschloss. The staff were wonderful, always greeting us pleasantly, knew the area well, and were eager to help. They even helped unload and load our bags, and there’s a spot by the front door where you can park briefly for that. We’ll be back in the near future. Thank you for your hospitality!
