NYCE Hotel Dortmund Thier Galerie

Two months before my trip, I booked and paid for a room. I even emailed the hotel a month before to confirm my arrival time, and they confirmed it. Then, just three days before I was due to arrive, they canceled by email because of “Overbooking.” I had to find another hotel in a hurry. I wouldn’t trust an advance booking here. Find somewhere else if you can.

We only spent one night at NYCE, but had a great stay. The room was clean and the staff were lovely. I left my wallet behind, and they contacted me and helped arrange to get it back. I’d definitely stay here again.

I was waiting from 2 o’clock, even though check-in was supposed to start at 3. At 3:30, I was still told there was no room because the previous guest hadn’t checked out. I ended up waiting an hour and a half to get checked in. At least three rooms were checked while I waited, and there was no compensation.

The room had hair on the floor when we opened the door, and it wasn’t cleaned for two days during our four-day stay. When we raised it, the receptionist said no cleaner was available. The cleaner had taken the old towels but left no fresh ones, and they refused to give us replacements. The staff were rude and unfriendly, and the place felt disorganized. Worst hotel I’ve visited. I won’t return to this hotel group and wouldn’t recommend it.
