Ferienpark Bernstein

It was okay.

Our family of five, two adults and three children, had enough room in the family accommodation. The kitchen had what we needed to cook, though you'll need to bring bedding or pay an extra fee to rent it. The place is set among the trees, with a lovely wide beach nearby and gorgeous sunsets to watch.

The two rolls provided each morning were the best part of our stay. I wouldn't recommend the apartment unless it's renovated first. The shower faucet was broken and unusable, and the front door kept tilting open when we tried to lock it from inside. The kettle also seemed faulty and tripped the circuit breaker when we tried to heat water for Nescafé. Inside, it was clean, but clearly worn. The bathroom door was swollen, and apart from the living room lamp, the lights were so dim they were barely useful, like a candle would have been brighter. Getting there was difficult too: the reception had a different name, so we didn't recognize it at first, though a nice gentleman explained that we could check in there. The road was little more than a bad dirt track, and felt safe to drive only at 5 km/h unless you had an SUV.

The breakfast buffet was prepared with so much care, and the evening meals were great too. None of our students complained about the food. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and perfectly adequate for our tenth-grade graduation trip to Bernstein Holiday Park. The park is tucked away in the woods, a short walk from the charming Baltic Sea beach, so we had a lovely place to look back on our years together, away from the bustle.
