Belle Etage by Studiotel

Room 73 was awkwardly furnished and noisy, facing a very busy crossing where trams run late into the night. We’ve stayed at this hotel several times before and were always happy with the rooms, location, and staff or owner. Since Covid, though, things have changed. There’s no staff on site, which makes getting into the building a bit difficult, let alone parking in the underground garage. My usually confident husband doesn’t want to repeat the experience of trying to follow instructions shouted over a mobile phone by someone who assumes everything is self-explanatory when it isn’t. Sending the entry code by email the day before arrival, or by text, might solve the problem.

I would have rated this accommodation very highly. The room felt like a mini studio, and you could access the balcony through a window. But there was no WiFi, and the layout means other occupants can accidentally lock you out.

The receptionist was really attentive, and I found the room very comfortable for my business trip. The location worked well for me too, with good tram connections and the central station not far away.

The owner is just adorable. The rooms are spacious, bright, and have great views, and everything was super nice, clean, and tidy. Highly recommend this place.
