Hotel Ashley's Garden

It feels like a village in the city, and the staff are extremely friendly. The rooms are nice, beds super comfortable, and parking is free. There's a big park nearby, the tram stop is a five-minute walk, and you can reach Fortuna Düsseldorf stadium in 20 minutes. This is an amazing hotel and our go-to place when we visit the city. I can't recommend it enough.

The hotel is in a very good location, but the room quality isn't what it should be, and the service was lacking too. Nobody was at reception when we arrived, so we waited 15 minutes for someone to show up. The receptionist also works in the restaurant. We had dinner there in a nice atmosphere. The food was okay, but service was poor and dinner took 2.5 hours. There clearly aren't enough staff to maintain the level of quality this hotel should have.

From outside the hotel looks fine, but the rooms aren't comfortable and cleanliness is questionable. There's little closet space and the bathroom is very small, which made it hard to settle in. Management is far from friendly. The woman running the place came across as arrogant and didn't seem particularly concerned about guest satisfaction. They also tried to charge us for breakfast, saying we'd cancelled too late.

The garden is top notch, with even a small pool where you can entertain your kids. The place is lovely and close to the Rhine and the parks around it, which make for a nice walk. The city center is roughly a 40-minute walk. Rooms have a vintage look with old-school furniture, but meet a four-star standard.
