Victoria Apartments

The bed was very comfortable and the sofa huge. It was spotlessly clean, and the radiators warmed the place up quickly; the shutters also made it properly dark at night. A little more decor would've made it feel more welcoming, but it was very reasonably priced.

After long days at Medica, it was great to come back to such huge, comfortable rooms. Service was good, wifi was fast, and I really appreciated the free snacks and water at check-in and the fresh bedsheets and towels every day. Our apartment had a queen bed, a sofa bed, a small kitchen, and a dining table, so cooking was an option. There's a convenience store right across the street, along with a cafe where I could get great coffee before heading to Medica. Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese restaurants are just below as well. The main downside is the walk to Dusseldorf Hbf, about 10 minutes.

The location is great, but we had a terrible experience with the people managing the place. They kicked us out because we “complained too much about the heating system,” which wasn't working and was making the kids sick in winter. They also told us to go to court to get our money back. They are basically like the worst European mafia people you see in movies. We were lucky to lose only 3,000 euros. I don't recommend this place at all.

The place is very nice, and the online service is very good. But the receptionist is extremely rude, as if she enjoys treating people badly. She alone can turn a good stay into a bad experience.
