Hotel Hof Sudermühlen

The pool was quite nice, and the sauna was clean and warm, though a bit small. The room and service were much less pleasant. We’d asked for a quiet room but were put facing the parking lot, and opening the window brought in the kitchen fryer smell. The walls didn’t block sound well, so our neighbor’s heavy snoring kept us up all night. There was no mobile signal, and the Wi-Fi was too weak to work properly in the bedroom. The mattress was too hard, and the pillow was cheap and thin. The bathroom light flickered and the hair dryer didn’t work. Coffee at breakfast was free, but the espresso tasted poor and cost 3,5€. A bottle of water was 9€. At checkout we were surprised by an extra 5€ per person for "energy cost". The service was generally rough and not very hospitable, apart from a few foreign staff members who were very nice, smiling, and agreeable. There’s no elevator to our rooms and floor. The many explicit religious references inside seemed from another century, though they weren’t shocking or disturbing, just unnecessary. Breakfast was decent, but food was often unavailable and took a while to be replenished.

The restaurant staff were very friendly, but the rooms felt old and weren’t very clean. They smelled like wet fur or something similar, and the walls were covered in stains from dead insects. The bathrooms have been renovated. The pool itself looked nice, though there was a lot of dirt in it. The pool and sauna area wasn’t very welcoming: the walls in both areas had mold, and the sauna was dirty with spider webs everywhere. The relaxation room was dark and had cheap sun chairs.

A relaxed hotel in a lovely spot, good for a long weekend of walking or bike rides. There’s good food and a large pool too. The room felt a bit old fashioned.

The rooms were clean and good, and the staff were friendly and supportive. Breakfast was served nicely. There’s no network coverage in the area, only Wi-Fi, and parking is free. Lots of activities are nearby, and the hotel has a pool and sauna.
