Dutters Stube

Perfect, plain and simple.

We were very happy with the friendly, attentive service and would be glad to return. Dutters Stuben also offers excellent regional digestifs. We went for the goose menu in November 2025. Dutters Stuben is a small, elegant, family-run restaurant that also includes a hotel. We found it through Google and its listing in the Michelin Guide as a “Bib Gourmand.” It was fully booked apart from our table, and the goose menu is offered throughout November. The €55 menu had lamb’s lettuce with bacon, goose breast and leg with bread and potato dumplings, then marzipan apple with red cabbage. The menu seemed to be missing a course, though they offered more meat, vegetables, dumplings and sauce if we wanted them, specifically so everything could still be served warm. That approach worked well, and looking things up afterward was no problem, especially for the men ;-). They offered an aperitif beforehand, but I found the serving too large, more like a cocktail. I’d have preferred sparkling wine from a local vintner with quince liqueur or something else seasonal. They also offered a wine pairing with regional wines. We all ordered dessert because the meal felt like it needed a sweet finish. Dutters Stuben usually focuses on its changing four-course set menu, around €77, so I don’t understand why the goose menu didn’t include a third course. With dessert, it felt complete, but the chef and owner’s calling card was missing the thought needed to make a coherent, complete menu. Dessert is part of that. I suspect they leave it to guests to decide whether they can manage another goose dinner. The desserts we ordered tasted delicious, but the crème brûlée was freezing cold. It should normally be freshly caramelized, warm and crisp on top with a cool layer underneath, which would make it more interesting to eat. The espresso had good crema and was strong, though the cups weren’t pre-warmed. The service and our meal left us quite satisfied. Considering the room for improvement and that the owners deliberately want to stay grounded rather than aim for a higher rating in restaurant guides, I’d give Dutters Stuben 4 stars.

We’ve never eaten so well as we did at Dutters Stube. The food was phenomenal, and the team made us feel completely at ease with how warm and attentive they were. Thanks so much for an unforgettable experience!

We found the food delicious and the drinks excellent. We stopped in spontaneously after a quick phone call, even though the kitchen was nearly closing. They were incredibly accommodating with our questions and requests. We didn’t have time to eat in the Michelin-starred restaurant, but the cellar is well worth recommending too. Thank you!
