The best thing about this hotel is its location, right in the old town centre in a quiet spot just behind the central park. Steinbach brewery is nearby and is a top location. It’s a somewhat old-fashioned place in a good way, with neat rooms and helpful, polite, friendly staff. Just right for sleeping and having a good breakfast.

There was nobody at reception except on weekday mornings, and getting help meant calling their mobile. Keep your phone with you if you stay, in case the door lock runs out of batteries like ours did, leaving us locked out of the room. The room hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guest, and 15 minutes later the concierge moved us to a smaller one. There was black mold in the bathroom, probably because the fan was broken, and the bed was very uncomfortable.

The room was small but had everything I needed. It’s a good place, and breakfast is a fairly typical continental style.

The room was very small and noisy, and breakfast fell far below any expectation. Not worth the price.

We stayed in a separate guesthouse rather than the main Rokokohaus building. The staff were friendly, and breakfast was very good.
