Pott Hostel

Inside, this hostel was clean, everything looked new and was fitted out nicely, and the shared bathrooms, shower, and kitchenette were comfortable and spotless. There were other guests around, but we never got in each other’s way. We stayed with the family for a weekend in Essen while I worked nearby. The location suited my work, and it cost about half what the nearest chain hotel did. We were unsure at first because the outside looks rough, and Google Maps showed an industrial dismantling plant, an S-Bahn line, and a generally unattractive neighborhood nearby. The inside was a pleasant surprise. I’d highly recommend it if you want to stay in this area.

The staff were really friendly, and the price felt fair. It was quiet with lots of parking, and the bus stop for the evening was only a two-minute walk away. The beds were comfortable, furnishings were lovely, and everything was clean. I’d book here again if I needed to.

My husband and I had a weekend stay and were very happy with it. The service was great, and getting to the trade fair was easy. There was a snack machine right outside and the coffee was delicious. We’d love to return. Greetings, Anja and Roland

Our room was spacious and very well kept. The bathroom facilities were clean and well maintained, and towel sets were available for a small charge. There’s a snack machine, an outdoor seating area, and shops and a bakery nearby. We were also close to the Ruhr Valley Cycle Path and could bring our e-bikes into the hostel. The phone contact was very pleasant, and a friendly staff member welcomed us, showed us around, and explained everything. Thanks for it all! Angelika and Kornelia
