Dormero Hotel Frankfurt Messe

It’s a reasonably priced hotel and good value, especially if you’re visiting Messe Frankfurt. Our room was clean, with a comfortable bed and a good shower. They don’t serve dinner, which is the one downside, but there are several restaurants nearby.

The AC was a lifesaver during the heatwave, when it was at least 35C outside. The room was very clean, the reception staff were friendly, and I felt okay about safety. Even the lobby had good AC. I’m writing this from my room on the last two days of my stay, after moving here from the hotel across the street. In that room I nearly fainted from the heat: although there was AC, they limited the temperature and it stayed around 30C. Moving here was a great decision. The windows aren’t as soundproof as I’d hoped, so light sleepers should know that. Still, in this heat I’d take the good AC any day. I’d happily come back and recommend the hotel. Grateful!

Our room was tiny, dated and extremely noisy because it was right by the train tracks. We booked a standard room and specifically requested twin beds. At check-in, the receptionist confirmed it was a twin, but when my family arrived there was a double bed instead. The manager answered my complaint sarcastically, saying, “If I could cut the bed in half, I would.” They said the hotel was full and wouldn’t change the room, insisting it was full until Monday, even though twin rooms were still listed online that day. In the second room, the AC didn’t work. When we asked to switch, staff were rude and said, “Na, I gave you 514, not 513.” My friend waited more than an hour in 30°C heat and got no solution. Eventually, they had to bring their luggage down to reception and firmly demand a new room. That finally worked. The reception service was extremely disappointing. If I could give zero or negative stars, I would.

The rooms facing the rails may be poorly soundproofed, which could bother light sleepers at night. Otherwise, it was good value for what I paid. The location was perfect, just a few minutes from the center but outside the “sketchy hbf area.” My room and bathroom were modern and very clean, with free drinks in the minibar. Check-in and checkout were simple and quick. I’d come back.
