Hotel Frankfurt Messe affiliated by Meliá

I was in room 307 a few days ago. The room was clean, but the sink drained so poorly that I could only run a little water at a time while washing my hands or brushing my teeth. That was unacceptable. Bottled water wasn't provided in the room, so I bought one at reception, along with a small pack of chips, for 7 euros. The restaurant was closed, and staff told me there was nothing nearby except an Italian restaurant five minutes away on foot. I ended up eating at another nearby hotel's restaurant. I don't think it makes sense for the restaurant here to be closed when the area has so little else. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

I've never felt so unsafe at a hotel as I did here traveling alone as a woman. Other guests repeatedly disturbed me, and even after I contacted staff several times, they didn't take effective action. Management later ignored my complaint completely. I wouldn't recommend staying here to women traveling alone.

The room was clean and quiet, the WiFi worked, and there was a spot to use a laptop. Breakfast was acceptable. The location is good if you're going to the fairs. After 11 pm there's nowhere to buy even water. There was no bottled water in the room or fridge, and the room's air conditioning couldn't be adjusted.

The gym was a joke, the beds were uncomfortable, and the old rooms felt poorly fitted and maintained. The walls were dirty, and the furniture seemed neglected. On top of that, the air conditioning and ventilation didn't work, so I was sweltering even though it was cold outside. Noise came through constantly from above, below, next door, and the hallway. The WiFi was slow when it worked, which was most of the time not at all. A staff member knocked and then barged in a quarter of a second later while I was changing. It felt like trying to sleep in economy on a long-haul flight: uncomfortable, noisy, and subject to random interruptions from staff. The worst hotel I've stayed at in Europe by a long way. Not recommended.
