Getting to Messe Frankfurt is convenient because it’s nearby. The short trip there still takes two trains, though, since there’s no direct connection.

I ended up canceling the booking myself after a very unpleasant experience with the hotel. During a phone call, an employee named "Katarina" said I might not get the room because I had booked through Hotel.de instead of directly with the hotel, and suggested I cancel. I’ve been a loyal customer for a long time, and my requests had always been honored before, so that was especially frustrating. Soon after, the booking portal called me believing I wanted to cancel. That information had come from the hotel, and I saw it as a false account of what I’d said and interference with a binding booking. When I raised the issue with management, they said "Katarina" had their full trust and blamed me, alleging I had behaved poorly. They also cited their "house rights" as grounds to cancel the reservation themselves, which I believe has no legal basis under German reservation law. Management stood by the employee and, in my view, tried to pressure me into canceling through dubious means instead of taking action. I won’t spend money with a company that treats customers this way, and I’ll avoid the hotel and wouldn’t recommend anyone book there.

The room was noisy, with little soundproofing, so we could hear everything overnight and in the morning. There were also plenty of problems in the room: a broken bedside lamp and fridge, no kettle, and marks across the carpets and walls, among other things. We’d booked a “double room with private bath,” but were given one with a shower. Reception just shrugged and said they were full and couldn’t move us. They were rude and unhelpful. I was told breakfast was included, then charged after we ate it the next morning. The breakfast itself wasn’t good, and the staff were rude and unpleasant again. Terrible hotel, wouldn’t recommend.

I left my shirt behind and got no reply when I emailed the hotel for help. The room wasn’t awful, but it was disappointing for upkeep and cleanliness, especially given the hotel’s rating. Customer service was lacking, and the stay left me underwhelmed. I hope they improve their service.
