Hampton by Hilton Frankfurt Airport

I come here for work fairly often and keep liking it. The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable, which makes a real difference on business trips, and having an iron in the room is handy. Reception is efficient and professional. Breakfast service is complete and well organized, too. It’s a comfortable, reliable place for work stays.

For the location, it’s great: you can walk from Terminal 2, and the price is okay for a night. But we’d book somewhere else next time. The rooms are tiny and hard to unpack in, even though it was nice to be able to open a window. There was no toothbrush or toothpaste, which I find unacceptable as these are standard nowadays. Breakfast was okay, and the waffles were great. Service needs work: some staff were friendly, while others were rude and seemed not to want to be there. They also don’t seem to accept cash, and I couldn’t get a printed invoice. I want the option to pay in cash, so that’s a no go for me.

Everything was spotless, and the buffet breakfast had all I could want. The bed was quite firm, with a 50 inch flat screen TV at its foot. One older man who works at reception and the bar was grumpy, to say the least, and didn’t seem suited to a customer facing job. Apart from him, it was a lovely stay.

The rooms were okay, but the restaurant staff made this the worst experience I’ve ever had with customer service. People resign because of one waiter who couldn’t be on time everywhere and seemed not to like guests. The guy at the bar twice told me, “I am not a guy to help you, ask the waiter.” He then went back to watching the football on TV and checking his phone. Breakfast was only about 30% nice. I hate writing such a negative review, but I have to warn others. 😞😞
