The sQuare Hotel

This is a rebranding scam, it's the same hotel as the “Hotel Grand Corner”. Maybe read the reviews there. The staff were good, though, and having reception open 24/7 is great. The place was unfortunately quite dirty: it hadn't even been vacuumed, there was hair and dust on the sheets, and one drinking glass was very dirty and greasy.

We needed somewhere quiet, safe and peaceful before my surgery, but this stay brought the exact opposite and added more stress. There were cockroaches in the bathroom when we entered, and the room smelled of smoke and was dirty. The shower didn't work and the door was broken. There's no deadbolt, and despite being advertised as soundproof, you can hear neighbors showering and every conversation in the hall and on the street. We arrived late because of our flight, tried calling a couple of other hotels, but they were full. Before even seeing the room, we had to pay the full amount and sign an agreement. After we got there, we asked the manager for a refund for the remaining nights, saying we were fine paying for the night we stayed. The manager refused and said Hotels.com had to authorize it. We checked out very early the next day after not sleeping at all. Hotels.com told us they needed permission from the hotel manager, after we called multiple times. We've opened a credit card dispute, and the manager has continued to lie in the dispute transcripts. We'll pursue this further. Save yourself the stress, fear and feeling of being taken advantage of. Do not book the sQuare HOTEL! The only good thing was the man at the front desk, who was nice, apologetic and felt bad about the conditions. It seemed to me he knew this happened but needed the job.

The price is hard to beat, but I'd spend a little more for a nicer place in a safer neighborhood. This part of town feels sketchy, so stay alert and watch your surroundings.

The price was good, but the shower door was broken and there was almost no water pressure. It's not in a great part of town, so be careful. I wouldn't stay here with women or children, and I wouldn't recommend Frankfurt in general.
