We’d stayed at the ipartment in Köln before and liked it enough to book the Frankfurt location, expecting the same standard. That turned out to be the worst decision of our trip. We barely slept. The building is in the red-light district, with strip clubs nearby and people using drugs out on the street. It was loud all night. Inside, the pillows were badly misshapen, the bed creaked whenever we moved, and there was no soap or shampoo in the shower. There didn’t seem to be any ventilation either, which set off my husband’s asthma. We were really disappointed that ipartment chose this location. If we’d known what the area was like, we wouldn’t have booked it. It definitely didn’t feel like a second home, and we absolutely do not recommend staying here.

The customer service was amazing, and we appreciated the service and the late checkout. Still, there were a few things we hadn’t expected during our month-long stay. We didn’t realize when booking that the Coworking space was at a different iPartment, so we had to walk 20 minutes each day. The rooms were dusty, and with no A/C we had to leave the windows open and use a fan, which we had to request. That only made the dust issue worse. Cleaning came every two weeks, so it would help to have a small vacuum and duster in the room to take care of the space ourselves. Anyone unfamiliar with the area should be aware that people openly use drugs on the streets throughout the day.

Karim was extremely kind, and whenever I ran into a problem with my room, he found a way to sort it out. The street itself was a bit noisy, with a lot of homeless people resting right outside the building. There’s no AC, just a fan, which wasn’t very comfortable in summer. The building is very nice, and I liked that the locks sometimes worked. But my stay came with a long list of problems. I was locked out when my door code changed randomly, then had to sit on hold for an hour to get the new code because it never arrived by email. There’s no AC in summer, and it gets hot as balls. The cleaning staff also took one of my shirts. They refused to clean my room on several occasions, and my deposit was held for four months. There are only three washing machines for the whole building. Guests don’t get a parking pass either, so I spent $500-$1000 on parking during my stay before I got a pass. This place scams its customers.
