Lindner Hotel & Residence Main Plaza

We went to the Lindner in Frankfurt as a family for a couple of nights and booked two rooms. To our surprise, we were upgraded to two huge suites with wonderful views. The staff were helpful and set up cots without any fuss. The suites were comfortable and very spacious, though a little dated. The AC had a minor issue, but fans kept the rooms cool. The pool was a highlight, large and beautiful, in a separate building reached either outdoors or by an underground tunnel. The hotel isn’t in the city centre, but Römerberg is only about a 20-minute walk away. Great value for a four-star stay, especially when using Hyatt points. I’d recommend it for a Frankfurt visit.

We managed a few nights here, but the stay didn’t compare well with a three-star hotel we’ve used. The suites were strangely laid out, like a maze, and the furniture made them awkward and impractical. Perhaps the arrangement was meant to capture the views, but it didn’t work for us. The staff were polite and helpful, and the bed was very comfortable. Still, the hotel feels dated, from the old carpet and stereo to the tiny, old TV. Some details were missed too: one room had empty body wash and shampoo bottles, another lacked a can opener, and nobody fixed the curtain that was falling off its track. There was also a bad smell in the lobby, apparently from the sewage system running around the city. It isn’t the hotel’s fault, but anyone sensitive to smells may be shocked each time they walk in.

I stayed at Lindner Hotel Frankfurt Main Plaza (JdV by Hyatt) from 1st to 4th November 2025. My EUR 100 security deposit still hasn’t been refunded after checkout, despite several follow-ups. The property looks good, but this experience is unacceptable from a reputed brand. Keeping a deposit without returning it gives the impression of a scam or fraudulent practice. Future guests should check the deposit policy carefully and avoid paying by cash or card until the hotel provides written clarity on the refund timeline. Some of the staff were excellent, though I’m sorry I can’t remember their names, and the GM was responsive. The hotel is generous with upgrades: complimentary ones are offered when possible, and the paid upgrade rates are low enough to be worthwhile. Some suites have a nice view. There’s no dedicated guest laundry, but they may let you use the washers and dryers for residents of Lindner Residences, where some floors have apartments managed by the hotel.
