Lindner Hotel Frankfurt Sportpark, part of JdV by Hyatt

We found this to be a comfortable, quiet hotel with good value, especially if you're visiting Frankfurt by car. It's tucked into a forest and sports complex area, away from the city, while still near the stadium and airport. There doesn't seem to be street parking, but the garage next to the hotel is very handy. The staff made a great impression. We arrived late and were circling around trying to work out parking when the young man at reception came outside to help, patiently and cheerfully. Later, he went out of his way to bring us an extra item for the room. The young woman who checked us out the next morning was just as helpful and friendly. Our room was basic but spacious, with everything we needed: comfortable beds, strong water pressure, soft towels, and big windows that let in lots of daylight. Breakfast had a wide range, from standard hotel options to several types of yogurt and a good choice of cereals. The two coffee machines also made excellent coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. For the price, comfort, service, and peaceful setting, it felt like a remarkable deal in the Frankfurt area.

A lovely place for our first night in Germany. It was only 6 mins from the airport, and both the staff and accommodations were great. David, the bartender and fellow Steelers fan, was a trip highlight!

The breakfast experience was especially upsetting. After we finished eating, my wife politely asked for and took a small bowl of food for our baby. A staff member came over and rudely said breakfast was over and we must not do that again. We had picked this hotel because it was close to the stadium, but our arrival was disappointing too. We got there around 1 PM with our 11-month-old and asked whether we could check in before 3 PM. Staff first said they'd help, then told us the room wasn't ready. We accepted that and thanked them. Immediately afterward, they offered early check-in for €10. We asked how a room that wasn't ready could suddenly be available for €10. Only when a more senior lady overheard did we get the room early without paying. We did get in sooner, but felt they had tried to take advantage of us. It would have been better to simply say no than to treat us like fools. The impression left was that the hotel looks for chances to get extra money from guests and hides behind “rules” and “discipline.” That was truly disappointing in a respected German city. Even if you're going to the stadium, I'd stay farther away and spend a few extra euros on the S-Bahn instead of being treated disrespectfully and feeling tricked.

The rooms were clean, looked fairly new, and seemed well maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed with my husband in July 2025. The buffet breakfast was good, and the location works well if you're going to the stadium or sport park. There isn't much else nearby. The mattress is quite hard, so it may suit you if you like a firm bed, but it was difficult for us since we prefer softer ones. The bathroom setup is unusual: the shower and sink are open to the bedroom on two sides, so you'd want to share only with someone you're very comfortable around. The toilet is in its own room with a closing door for privacy. Summer was the main problem. There isn't really AC, just some kind of “eco” temperature control using cold water in pipes, and it only changes the temperature by a few degrees. Since the hotel is surrounded by woods, opening the windows even a little brings MANY mosquitoes inside. That means you can't cool the room overnight unless you're willing to get bitten. I'd happily stay here in winter, but would think twice in summer or during the warmer parts of spring and fall.
