Mercure Hotel Frankfurt City Messe

For a business visit to Frankfurt Messe, the location was great. The area around Frankfurt HBF, though, seems to have declined over the years. The room was okay for a hotel at this level, and room service was fine. The shower was very good, but the carpets need cleaning or replacing. The lift was tiny and painfully slow. My room was on the 7th floor, but the lift only goes to floor 5. Walking down from 7 to reception was quicker than waiting for it. Soundproofing wasn’t great either, since I could easily hear street noise from the 7th floor. Still, the hotel wasn’t bad overall.

Mr. Taraki was the highlight of my stay. He was professional and welcoming, and went out of his way to help with every detail. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and in a good location. I’d highly recommend it.

This was my worst Mercure experience anywhere. The rooms are very old, and the carpets still look dirty after cleaning. The lift takes 2-3 minutes just to reach the 5th floor. The main road and the back of the hotel felt totally unsafe, with people using drugs, smoking mariuanna and apparently injecting themselves. The hotel never replenished the water during my stay. It doesn’t feel like a four-star place, more like a low-end hotel. I chose it because of the Mercure name, and Accor should pay attention to these comments.

We had a confirmed booking since May, but on the day we arrived for check-in, the hotel said they no longer had a room because they had decided to take a group booking for 15 rooms. They offered to send us to another hotel, which was much worse, and we refused because it wasn’t what we had booked or paid for. After travelling, we were left tired, angry, and with nowhere to sleep. This was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. They ruined our plans and seemed not to care. Avoid this place. It felt like making more money mattered more to them than their guests.
