Nearly every room seemed to have a basic problem, from missing lamps and empty toiletries to maintenance faults. My first room had no window handle, so wind noise came through the opening. The next one had the same problem and no lamp. The third room was finally okay on those points, but its conditioner and body wash were empty. I was tired by then and made do with the shampoo. The room changes came after a frustrating arrival. I got there at 1 PM and was told to return at 3 PM, without anyone asking for my name or reservation. At 3, my room still wasn't ready. They offered an upgrade only because my booked room was unavailable, but said I'd need to check each day to keep it. I used it for a couple of hours until my actual room was ready. Housekeeping also ignored the Do Not Disturb sign more than once. One day someone tried the door, and another time they came in while I was in the room. There isn't an extra safety lock, so they could technically enter while a guest is asleep. When I did ask for cleaning, it never happened even after I waited hours. They also charged me twice for a stay I'd prepaid. At first they claimed it was a €50 deposit, even though it was the full room charge, and only later admitted the mistake. I explained all these problems several times and got no apology, solution, or compensation, just promises to speak with housekeeping or a manager. This was easily my worst Hilton stay. Problems kept happening during two of my four nights, and although I initially considered giving the benefit of the doubt and leaving three stars, they didn't stop. The service and management were unacceptable, and the experience seriously hurt my trust in Hilton. I wouldn't return. If you want to keep your sanity, I'd avoid the place.

Medi on the night shift was especially helpful and nice. The team in general was friendly, professional, and quick to assist, and both check-in and check-out went smoothly. I felt warmly welcomed throughout the stay. The hotel is modern, clean, and looked after, with a quiet, comfortable feel. My room was spacious, very clean, and well equipped. Breakfast was fresh, tasty, and offered plenty of choice. Transport links make it convenient for getting to the city center or airport. I had a very pleasant visit to DoubleTree by Hilton Frankfurt Niederrad and would gladly stay again. I'd recommend it.

The elevators worked without trouble, but that was about the only part of the stay that went well. The room AC struggled to keep things comfortable, and breakfast service was slow and not very customer friendly. Checking out took 30-40 minutes just to pay the bill. The front desk seemed badly understaffed, which is a poor fit for a business hotel. The gym was cramped and poorly equipped, more like an afterthought than a usable fitness room. Anyone counting on a morning workout should look elsewhere. For what it offers, the property feels neglected and overpriced. There are better choices near the airport or in the city center.

We only booked this hotel because a problem forced us to, but it turned into a happy surprise. The rooms were roomier than in most hotels, especially for the price, and breakfast was great. They also did room cleaning in the morning, and there's a small hot plate for cooking. The staff made the biggest impression. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and someone even carried my luggage without me asking. I'd recommend the hotel for the place itself, but even more for the hospitality.
