Mercure Hotel Kaiserhof Frankfurt City Center

The location near Central Station is excellent, and I was surprised to get upgraded to a really spacious, cozy room. The breakfast timing caused trouble, though. The QR code said breakfast started at 6:30 AM, but on weekends it actually begins at 7:00. That half hour matters if you have a tight FlixBus or train connection. Staff saw me waiting but didn’t explain the change. They should post the actual hours by the breakfast entrance and correct the QR code and website. Thank you! Mabuhay Mecure Frankfurt 🇵🇭

Update: I had a very pleasant stay with no problems at all. The rooms are clean and breakfast is great, and I’d book again. Just keep the location in mind if you’re travelling with kids. It’s five minutes from the main train station, but around the corner is the homeless and red light district. If you stick to the hotel, you may not notice it, though turning onto the wrong street right by the entrance could bring some annoyance.

We had a good first impression. The lobby looked nice, the room was comfortable, and it was bigger and better than the place we usually stay at in Frankfurt. But our special occasion stay was still pretty unpleasant, and I don’t think we’ll return. The room was hot even though the heater was off. There was no soap or body wash, and reception said they’d run out, which is unacceptable for a four-star hotel, especially late at night when nearby shops weren’t an option. I asked for the AC remote, but they said it was on the wall, where it wasn’t. They suggested opening the window. We didn’t want to because the area can be loud, but opened it a little to cool down. I woke once in the night to people screaming outside.

I’d choose this hotel again when I’m back in Frankfurt. There are lots of nearby food options, plus a pharmacy, market, and general store within a block. The bed was comfortable, the wifi worked as expected, and the room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and a made bed. The neighborhood gets a bit sketchy at night, but no worse than any other American city.
