Residence Inn by Marriott Frankfurt City Center

When I stayed at Residence Inn Frankfurt city in September a few months ago, the room was spotless and spacious, with a kitchen, seating area and a huge balcony overlooking a beautiful view. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choices, including gluten-free options. I also liked the lobby coffee machines and the well-equipped gym. Pedro handled check-in smoothly and professionally, and Ben and the rest of the team kept supporting us throughout the stay. They really went out of their way to make things comfortable. The location is ideal, a few minutes’ walk from the city center, attractions, coffee shops, restaurants and a shopping mall. The entrance was easy to miss the first time, at least for me, so I added a photo showing where it is. I also felt safer with key-card access beyond the lobby. I’ve stayed at other Residence Inn locations, including Copenhagen and Dubai, and Frankfurt is my favorite. Highly recommended for a visit to Frankfurt!

The rooms and location are nice, and breakfast is good. It’s the same every day, though, so it gets boring on a longer stay. The parking is expensive, and sometimes there are problems with tickets and spaces. The elevator system works, but only one elevator reaches the underground parking, and staff sometimes use it to move supplies.

I paid €1,600 for my stay, and it felt like poor value, especially when it came to breakfast. For the rates this Marriott Residence Inn charges, the selection was shockingly basic: no smoked salmon and only scrambled eggs. I don’t eat those and need fully cooked eggs, so I asked for a simple omelet every day. Each time the staff said they were too busy because of the crowd. It’s strange that the hotel can raise room prices to extreme levels but can’t make a basic omelet for a paying guest. At these prices, you should get flexibility and service. You can’t charge premium rates while cutting basic service. Very disappointing. The gym is lacking too.

The front desk staff were very nice and accommodating, and the location is amazing. You can walk to so many places nearby. The room itself was nice, but the bathroom had a strange smell, maybe glue. Breakfast was very disappointing, with a poor selection. I’d still come back just for the location.
