The bathroom was so tiny that sitting on the toilet was difficult, and after I closed the window before going out for the night, I came back to a really bad smell in the room. It had been open when I first arrived. This was a lot worse than I expected. The hostel I stayed in the week before was much better. I’d never stay here again.

Some of the front desk staff were friendly, but that was about the only good part. The room was filthy, especially the carpet and bed, and there were bed bugs. I’d read many other comments describing bed bug encounters, so seeing it myself reassured me I hadn’t made a false accusation. Stay away.

We found a bed bug during our stay, and some got into our luggage. I ended up with bites at home, and we had to arrange an emergency pest cleanup of the whole house. Not fun. The bathroom also badly needs renovating. There was rust and limescale everywhere, and broken wires had been fixed with Scotch tape. Not cool.

The Haptbahnhof area in Frankfurt is terrible, and the breakfast was fine. The room was very small, with no chair or table and a duvet that was far too thin for winter, so the heater had to be turned way up. The TV wasn’t working properly either. When I asked for another room, they said I’d have to pay extra to get a chair. It is cheap, at least.

For one night, 48 euro didn’t feel worth it. The TV didn’t work properly, and the room had a poor desk and no trash can in the living area. It was beside a trash deposit, and its entrance looked like a safety door.
