Best Pension

The rooms are simple but light and airy, with comfortable box spring beds, a good bathroom with a walk-in shower, plenty of room, and a separate desk. It's a peaceful place, and you can stay with dogs. There's a shared kitchen that's new, well equipped, and open to all guests. You do need to bring your own food and drinks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Elbe river is a four-minute walk away for dog walks, and Glückstadt center, a national monument, is a five-minute drive for shopping, restaurants, and the museum. There isn't a host on site, but it was easy to get in touch to arrange access to the house and our rooms. She was available in the morning, made us good coffee, and even offered to walk our dogs. Clearly a dog lover 😉 We paid € 198 for two double rooms, including an extra €19 cleaning "dog" fee for both rooms. Good value and well worth it. We'll return on our next trip through North Germany and West Denmark.
