Breakfast was good, and the place was friendly and inexpensive. The furniture is quite old, though.

The interior feels worn and very dated. Staff were helpful and friendly, and breakfast was good. A sign warning about the construction site would have helped.

We stayed one night as a group, and everyone came away with a bad feeling. The place has an unintentionally creepy atmosphere, starting with a gruesome wax figure at the entrance that made me scream when I walked in. The old-fashioned clutter there, dusty ornaments, plates, figurines and plastic flowers, only adds to it. The furniture doesn't fit the period and also feels unsettling. Staff were reasonably friendly, though a bit creepy themselves. Getting in was awkward: the entrance was locked despite reception being staffed, and the doorbell sign said it was broken, so we had to knock loudly. My room was clean, but lots of things were broken or badly patched up. The rooms are so poorly soundproofed I could hear people upstairs peeing. There must have been at least eight Wi-Fi networks, and not one worked. The bathroom seemed untouched since the 1970s. The shower barely had water pressure, the doorstop was taped to the wall, and broken old plastic from former soap dispensers was still hanging there. In our rooms, the fire alarms had been removed. One of the two emergency exits was locked, meaning you'd need a key to get out in an emergency. In the dining room, 80% of the bulbs were out, so we sat in the dark. A quick look into the garden showed rubbish and neglected plants. Breakfast is cheap, but the choice is limited. The cold cuts were almost all sausage, with no vegetables at all, and staff smoked on the winter garden balcony next to the breakfast room during mealtimes. I was told by phone that my single room would cost €56, but the bill came to €65. My colleagues paid as much as €90 per night for a single. With these amenities, that's really not a price you can ask. If my employer hadn't paid, I would have refused to stay and gone elsewhere.

The bathroom was small but just about adequate, and the shops are an easy five-minute walk away. I was there for a week on business. The hotel was mostly clean, though everything looked worn and run-down, with furniture arranged haphazardly. Breakfast was a small buffet; there was something to eat, but the taste was debatable. For the price, I expected a bit more. I wouldn't choose it for a vacation, though it works for a business trip.
