Chalet S Das Juwel an der Zugspitze

The chalet sits amid breathtaking scenery with a view of the majestic Zugspitze, and the peace and relaxation start as soon as you arrive. Everything is close at hand despite the quiet, natural setting. We enjoyed walks by the lake, short hikes, sunrises, starry skies, and time in the hot tub and sauna. It’s a stylish, high-quality place, furnished with care down to the smallest detail. The living area is cozy, the amenities are excellent, and the warm atmosphere made us feel at home straight away. Thanks for the warm hospitality and smooth organization. This short break was pure magic, and it’ll stay with us for a long time. Perfect for anyone looking for peace, nature, comfort, and moments of well-being. We’ll be back, and we’re already counting down the days.

We were three couples here for a week, and all six of us could stretch out on the huge sofa upstairs for movie nights on the excellent home cinema. Popcorn was even available to buy. The house also has a billiard room, a log cabin sauna, and an outdoor hot tub with a breathtaking view of the Zugspitze. Each couple had a bedroom, bathroom, and walk-in closet on their own floor. We found a lovely bottle of sparkling wine and small chocolates waiting as a welcome gift. The fitness area in the conservatory was top notch, including a Peloton bike that can also be used for classes like yoga or strength training. The chalet is really something special, with an unusually good combination of quality and atmosphere. It’s stylish, very well made, and lovingly furnished. We had a friendly hostess, a lovely welcome from the caretaker, and fantastic weather, all of which made for a perfect week. We’ll definitely be back.

The real highlight for us was the new cinema setup upstairs. The built-in projector and 5-meter screen made for cozy, memorable movie nights. You’ll need your own Prime, Netflix, or other account. The house itself is fully equipped, with a complete kitchen, a TV in every bedroom, a separate reading nook, tasteful high-quality furniture, and a pool table in the basement that gives everyone something to do. We made good use of the whole house because the weather in early August felt more like autumn than summer. We enjoyed the sauna, hot tub, and fitness room with its Peloton bike, though you need your own account for that. There’s also a small pool with a counter-current system, but we couldn’t try it because the water wasn’t heated. Everything was very stylish and tastefully furnished, with plenty of thoughtful amenities. The setting at the foot of the Zugspitze is breathtaking. We didn’t find the traffic bothersome, and although we could hear the Zugspitze cable car about 20 meters behind the house, it wasn’t unpleasant. The cowbells in the neighboring meadow were lovely. We can imagine the access road may be busier when the weather’s better and more tourists head to Lake Eibsee and the Zugspitze cable car. For dog owners, walks are a little tricky because there’s no direct footpath along the road. A hiking trail is about 500m away through neighboring meadows, or you can do a few loops in the meadows when they’ve been mowed. That wasn’t an issue for us. We were very satisfied and felt luxuriously and stylishly accommodated all week. The house and its amenities get five stars from us. Service, communication, and the handover with the caretaker were excellent, and he was a very nice fellow. They even provided a bed, bowls, and blankets for our dog. The owners were incredibly kind and accommodating, everything was straightforward, and the furnishings are super luxurious. The view of the Zugspitze is breathtaking. It’s a true oasis for switching off and relaxing. I can wholeheartedly recommend it, and I’ll definitely go back.
