Hamburg Room

The room was okay and very cheap, with breakfast included. But the neighborhood made us really nervous. There were sketchy people around, including people struggling with drugs, and a sex cinema on the ground floor. My boyfriend and I were scared walking back at night, and we come from a big city, so this wasn't a worry we had for no reason. It didn't feel much better during the day. I can't imagine staying there alone or with kids. The main pluses were being about a five minute walk from the central station and having several transport options nearby.

The only thing going for it is how close it is to the bus and train station. The Google photos are almost completely false, the place smelled of cigarettes the whole time, and our room had a strong odor. It was unclean, and our supposed double bed was really just a big single. Outside, people were begging or completely wasted on drugs, and prostitutes were there all night. We tried to leave as soon as we arrived but couldn't find other accommodation. After the first night we left early. I'd avoid this place completely. You'd have to pay me to stay again.

It's an easy walk to the train station, but sleeping here was hard. There was no AC, so I had to keep the window open, and the busy street stayed noisy all night. I asked the receptionist a few times if I could get a fan and got a look like I was crazy. I'd spend a bit more for a better hotel. You'll be uncomfortable here.

The buffet staff were kind and attentive, the one bright spot for us. The area felt unsafe, with drunk and drugged people around all day, and our room door wouldn't lock. We had to wedge a chair against it at night, and the reception staff didn't inspire confidence. They kept luggage in an open room anyone could access, which felt very unprofessional. The low price is about what you'd expect, and it's near the station and city centre, but I wouldn't stay again.
