Holiday Inn Hamburg - City Nord by IHG

I’ve finally found a hotel I’d return to for business trips. The breakfast is very rich, and the sauna area is relaxing with towels available. The rooms are clean and spacious, with enough elevators for a hotel this size. Staff are competent and handle business travelers’ needs quickly and professionally. The location is good, though there aren’t places nearby for a quick dinner apart from the hotel restaurant.

The PIER Bar & Restaurant has a cozy, welcoming feel, though I found the drinks a little expensive. Breakfast was excellent and extensive, with omelets made fresh on request, and the staff throughout were friendly and attentive. The hotel sits in a quiet spot by beautiful Hamburg City Park, while still being well connected to the city center and airport. The large, modern sauna on the 18th floor was a highlight after a busy day, and the fitness area was well maintained and open 24/7. Clean rooms and nice wellness facilities make it a good pick for either business or leisure.

The room was cleaned very well, and I woke up well rested. It’s a modern, comfortable hotel with good equipment, clean rooms, friendly staff, and a nice view. The bar serves decent drinks until around 1am. Parking is okay, with clean spaces and direct hotel access through an underground corridor, though there’s just one space for a very expensive car. Street parking in the neighborhood is a crime, and the underground garage costs a fortune. Public transport is available if you’re willing to walk a while. People seem to smoke at the hotel entrance, even weed. The smoking memo somehow hasn’t reached Germany, though that’s the same across Germany, so it isn’t the hotel’s fault.

I joined a buffet lunch here during a workshop, and the food was really nice. The people working at the hotel were very kind, and the building looked new and clean. It’s outside Allianz Tower, about a 7-minute walk from S-Bahn Rubenkamp City Nord. My colleague stayed here and spoke very well of the hotel too.
