Hostel Kiezbude

That entrance might give you a scare at first, and the place can look a bit shady and dingy. But Kiezbude hotel was actually clean and cute, and it felt cozy inside. My sister and I found the unusual style funny and authentic, though it's definitely not for everyone. We had a great stay. If you're sensitive to noise, Reeberbahn may not be the right area, but it wasn't as bad as some reviews made it sound. Kiezbude hotel is also fairly close to the center, which was handy for our few days in Hamburg :)

The one thing going for this hotel is the location, but there are plenty of better options nearby. We stayed on Reeperbahn before, and this was by far our worst experience. It was so loud the bed shook, like trying to sleep on a dance floor, and we only got a few broken hours of sleep. Everything reeked of heavy tobacco. We regretted booking it more than any other hotel and would definitely look elsewhere.

The room had a bit of a smell, and there weren't many toilets, though it was okay since there weren't many guests. Still, it was a nice stay, the price was good, and the staff were friendly, although some spoke very little English. I loved the furniture and the quirky decor, which made sense when I learned it used to be a brothel.

The rooms have a very distinctive decor, and the atmosphere is priceless. The staff were really kind. If you want a hotel that captures Reeperbahn, this is the one to choose. The hygiene is questionable, though.
