Buch-Ein-Bett Hostel

If you have asthma, please avoid this place. There were no towels in the room and no soap in the bathroom, but the main problem for me was how quickly my breathing got worse. I still don't know whether it was the slightly damp bedsheets, which we had to put on ourselves, or the medium-sized refrigerator in the room. After just two minutes sitting there with an FFP2 mask on, my lungs started closing faster than ever before. I had to get out onto the street and use my Ventolin urgently. For context, I usually take one dose of 200/6 Symbicort each morning and evening. I've never needed Ventolin after exercise.

As others have said, it's a very good hostel. Just keep in mind that it's in St. Pauli: the Millerntor stadium and the Reeperbahn are a five-minute walk away, and the harbour is ten minutes on foot. If those are the reasons you're visiting Hamburg, this is an amazing hostel. Otherwise, you might be better off elsewhere! 😂

The rooms are pretty basic, but good overall, and the bathroom was especially nice. We really liked having a kitchen and a fridge in the room. The free morning coffee was a bonus too, especially the hot chocolate and vanilla cappuccino. 🫶🏼 There's a really good Indian restaurant across the street, so check it out. The location makes it easy to get to all kinds of public transport, and the staff are friendly and nice.

This is the best hostel I've stayed in. We got a whole room to ourselves, including a bathroom, for a very low price. The rooms were really clean, and there are good shared spaces for hanging out and cooking. Would recommend 👍👍👍
