Backpackers St Pauli

For the price, this hostel was a great deal. I stayed on my own, and the rooms were very clean and fairly spacious. They provided lockers with keys for free. The location in St Pauli is excellent, with a quick walk to anywhere. I'd stay again.

It's really cheap, and you notice that, for example, there's no bedside table. I didn't like finding mold in the bathroom. Apart from that, it's got what you'd expect from a hostel in this price range.

I slept really well here. The hostel was quiet and very clean, and the mattress and big pillow were comfortable. The basics are what you'd expect, but the service staff clearly put a lot of effort into keeping things clean. A few things could use attention: the locker in my room was off its hinges, there were no plugs near the top bunks to charge a phone, and the showerhead needed a hook or something to hold it up without your hand. I was very satisfied with the atmosphere and quality.

The staff are lovely and very helpful, and the kitchen is clean and adequate, though not extensive. The hostel is within walking distance of lively areas, and you can walk to the city centre and river too if you're active. Otherwise, the U/S-Bahn is about 15 minutes away. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
