We'd definitely stay here again. This little family gem in Hamburg's beautiful suburbs had everything we wanted: a family apartment for us, our child, and our dog, beds with very good-quality bedding, and welcoming owners. Breakfast was small but effective and tasty. The location is convenient too, with plenty of good places nearby to eat, shop, and buy groceries. Thank you!

Loved staying here and would return any time. It had exactly the feel I hope for in a German guest house: a real sense of history and place, blended with modern touches that make things convenient without feeling drab. The staff were actually friendly, too! Our room was clean and moderately sized, with crisp white bedding, coffee and tea, a mini fridge, and tidy, compact closet space with a luggage bench. The street-facing window made it fun to watch people coming and going, but we barely heard any noise. Radiator heat kept both the room and bathroom warm. Vinyl plank flooring meant no worries about sticky carpet or luggage damaging precious wood. There was good hot water in the shower, and the toilet was clean and flushed easily. Breakfast felt carefully put together, with cheeses, meats, breads, jams, juices, coffee and tea. Eggs could be cooked to order, and most things were labelled. Quiet music, tea lights, and flowers made the dining area feel welcoming. It warmed my heart to find such caring hospitality, in Germany yet!

We arrived here after our first night's accommodation elsewhere didn't work out, and we're so glad we did. This fourth-generation family hotel offers personal, friendly service. Andreas was knowledgeable and helpful with all our questions, and went out of his way to make the stay what we'd hoped for. Nina runs the kitchen, and breakfast in the peaceful dining room was a lovely start to each day. They serve locally sourced and homemade breads and rolls, delicious jams, freshly cooked eggs made to order, and a good range of meats, cheeses, lox, and other toppings. The hotel is in a very nice neighborhood outside the inner city, within walking distance of the train, restaurants, and shops, and a short drive from the airport. Our rooms had excellent showers, clothing storage, down comforters, and headboards with charging stations, reading lights, and other lamps. We were also welcomed with energized water and delicious fruit. The hotel has no elevator, so ask for a ground-floor room if stairs are a concern. We loved the thoughtfully updated rooms, the pretty Alstertal area, and above all Andreas and Nina's genuinely caring service. We hope to return someday.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Rosengarten and would definitely come back if we're in the Hamburg area again. The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating, and the rooms felt like new and were very comfortable.

The breakfast was a real highlight, with freshly made bread, homemade jams, meat and cheese, plus sweet treats, all presented with care. We stayed in the small apartment as a family of two adults and our 11-year-old daughter. It was nicely furnished and had everything we needed to feel at home. We had planned on just one night for a musical, but liked the experience enough to add two more. The hotel felt like a peaceful spot in the city, and we appreciated the tips for exploring nearby. We’re already looking forward to coming back.
