For one or two night layovers, I'm pretty happy with the price and central location. I've stayed twice and would come back. Both rooms were clean and modern, though the small, dated elevator in the 53 building still gets the job done. On my first stay I had a small room on the 1st upper floor facing the street. Some noise came in, as you'd expect in such a busy area, but the walk-in shower was big and the water worked fine. The second room, on the 3rd upper floor, looked onto a rear courtyard and was larger and quieter. That time the bathroom had no heater, the shower was much smaller, and the water flow was pretty inconsistent.

We picked this hotel for a one-night stop before taking the train to Kiel for our cruise. The location was very convenient, and check-in was fairly seamless, with friendly staff. We had to check in at 056, then walk half a block to enter 053 and reach our room. The room was clean and comfortable.

For a solo traveller, the room was small, but clean and good value for a one-night train layover. The location is outstanding, just outside the central railway station, with plenty of places to eat and drink and easy access to Hamburg's subway and buses. The split property made things a little complicated, but it felt safe and was clean. I'll stay again.

Seems intended for a one-night stopover, with the station and town centre close by. I wouldn't recommend it for a holiday stay.

Reception was friendly and helpful. I paid €105 through my work travel agent, and at that price the value was good for breaking up a long train trip overnight. The room was small but clean, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom worked fine. Check-in is at Boutique 56, then it's up two flights of stairs. The old carpet was the low point, it didn't feel nice underfoot.
