Hotel Blankenese

The room was basic but clean, with only a bed and table, and breakfast was simple. Ms. Tzela at reception made a real difference with her service and made the stay pleasant. Thanks.

The evening receptionist was very nice, and breakfast was okay. In the morning, though, an unfriendly older man at reception made the whole hotel experience unnecessarily bad. I had the last room available, so I can't complain too much that it wasn't the best one, but it faced a busy road and was noisy at night.

For 130 euro a night, the ordinary double room felt overpriced. There wasn't a kettle, and the hotel had one iron for everyone, which they couldn't locate when I needed to iron for a wedding. The breakfast seemed cheap to me, though the bill didn't list its price. One day the coffee was barely warm, the meatballs and sausages were disappointing, and the butter was over a month past its expiration date. The room looked okay at first, but nobody seemed to have cleaned under the bed for about a year. It even had wheels at one end, so moving it should have been easy.

The location worked well, with bus and train stations nearby, plus grocery stores and pharmacies. Rooms were decent and fairly clean, the food was alright, and the wifi was mostly stable.
